If you could redo the baby phase, what things would you actually want?
As a new parent, I bought way too many gadgets and gizmos and stuff that I never really needed. Some my friends kids are starting to have their first babies. So I’m trying to put together a list of good baby shower gifts that truly are useful. Diapers, amazing. The Frida nose sucker? So valuable. What else?

My go to gift for every new baby is the Woolino, we have used them every single day from 3 months (±) to upwards of 2 years and my kids would just find comfort in it and it would get them on sleep mode. Also had it for every climate (with just a diaper for the beach or a cozy PJ for the winter). Our first Woolino has lasted till kid #3 so it’s great quality for 2 year of daily use per kid. https://www.woolino.com/collections/4-season-baby-sleep-sacks
My favorites for nursing moms are the Hakaa Ladybug milk collectors, lanolin for irritation, and the stretchy wraparound nursing covers that can also be used as an infant carseat cover!
- rachel—This is amazing! Thank you. Adding all three to my list of possible gifts!

My breast friend nursing pillow was the most comfortable nursing pillow I had, it supports your back
- Emalemaline—Oh my goodness I can’t believe I forgot to mention this in my nursing essentials! I hated the boppy pillows in my first 3 kids. Then I got the My breast friend for my Twins just over a year ago and it changed my life until they started sitting up on their own. I was scared to buy it since it was expensive and I had never liked previous nursing pillows, but this was 100% worth it!

Honestly, if I were putting together a registry again, I would just ask for a cleaning service that could come about once a week for the first month (maybe twice a week for my first couple kids…definitely once a week for my fourth baby). My boss actually offered this gift when I had my twins. I valued that more than anything else.

Another sleep/soothe item is the lovey. We have gotten a handful for each kid from the get go, that way they don’t develop a preference and there is no major drama if lost, also they can be washed as often as needed. Our favorites are the Angel Dear brand https://a.co/d/d9gOAsJ
- rachel—We used angel dear too! I love the idea of a couple different ones. Brilliant.
