Ok, so thinking ahead a little, and what I would LOVE. I asked a question about which instruments are good for little kids. Let’s say that 100 people respond int he long run and 60 of them mention the violin. It would be cool it when I opened that discussion there was some kind of summary of key words? “About 60% of respondents mentioned ‘violin’”. Or in the conversation about books, you get lots of people responding with the name and/or link to a certain book. Is it possible to summarize that somehow? “37 people mentioned ‘The Book with No Pictures’”.
I find that’s one of the hardest parts of lots of responses to one question in parent forums is when there are a lot of responses I have a hard time processing them all. So just thinking through how to synthesize that. Obviously the most loved responses come to the top, but it would be nice to know if there are other responses that recommend the same thing.
Or maybe instead of a summary at the top (which might be tricky and not highlight all the stuff I’d want) it’s an option to the side of a response that says “12 similar responses” and when I click on that I can see similar responses (others that also recommend that product or destination or whatever). Which would be cool because if, for example, I was asking about your favorite hotels for kids, and a bunch of people recommended Great Wolf Lodge, I could look at all those responses as a set and read through all the recommendations/comments about it as one whole.
- jon—love this! we’ve been thinking something very similar. would you want the references to the book or the hotel to only include references in the current discussion, or across the whole site?
- rachel—Across the whole site is my initial reaction. i keep trying to think of scenarios where I’d want just that group but when a flush out the scenario in my mind I think across the site is more valuable every time.

Honestly, one of the hardest things for me is the organization. I think it would be a cool feature to have a way to have topics in which an individual might have interest, specialty or background in leap up to the top or placed in a separate section to encourage response to targeted topics for each user. Then maybe a section dedicated to questions I have specifically asked. Just some thoughts.

Is there an about page? I actually don’t even know what BTFL stands for. 😂😂
And are there any setting options? Like can one opt out of text notifications?
