How do you clean squishmallows?
We have some off brand squish mallows (soft plushies) that my kids love, but seem to pick up all the dirt possible and my spot cleaning doesn’t seem to be keeping up.
For those of you that keep your kids’ squishmallows looking new, what products/ cleaning methods do you use?
- ashesk—A magic eraser it great for small spots.

I put them in the washing machine & dryer! Dry on low. I’ve washed them many times with no ill effects 💜
- ritu—Same! I also throw them in the washer and dryer. I figure if they can survive the gentle handling of preschoolers and kindergartners, they can tolerate a wash. I haven’t had any stuffies die in the washer.
- rachel—@mamaenjoyslife do you wash them on a delicate cycle? Or a regular cycle
- mamaenjoyslife—Regular. Honestly, I didn’t even think about it! They were dirty & I threw them in 💜
- rachel—@mamaenjoyslife ok. awesome. My son have a VERY favorite squishmallow that desperately needs a wash but I’ve hesitated to do it. I’m gonna be brave and put it in right now!
- mamaenjoyslife—Maybe put it inside of a pillowcase in the machine for extra protection if you’re worried?

I don’t know about squishmallows specifically but in this household we are big on plush toys and they all take regular “baths” just like their owners 🤣. I put them in a laundry mesh bag for both washer and dryer which helps keep the eyes safe from scratches.
I googled this last Christmas because my husband bought a mega size Pikachu Squishmallow and within a week it smelled like pee. I wrapped it in a sheet and washed it by itself in the washer and then squeezed and dried it over the laundry room sink until it wasn’t dripping anymore then put it out in the sun to finish drying.
