I need ideas for my husband’s 40th birthday! What have you done that was fun? We don’t want to go out of town or do anything too expensive. Thank you!

I’m looking for gift ideas and ways to celebrate specifically being 40! I’m not asking for places to go. His birthday is next week 😊

      Here are a couple ideas that I’ve seen with our friends that I really liked:

      For several of our friends, I’ve been asked to write a short note with one of my favorite memories of our friendship. And then they were all compiled into little book.

      For another of our friends, we went to this fun party where the spouse had inquired of friends and family in advance about some of their favorite things that stood out about this person. And then he had got a whole bunch of tiny presents, and each one based on something that people noticed. Like a book because lots of people commented that she loved to read. a blanket because lots of people noticed she was always cold.

      for my 40th I was pregnant with my last, and so my sister-in-law and her family came and stayed with my kids for the night and my husband and I went to a nice hotel and got massages.

      And lastly for one of my best friends, they just spent the day doing her favorite stuff. So they went to her favorite restaurant. He got her a chunky gift card to target and let her roam free. And they went golfing. And they went and saw a movie in the theater. It was just a day of her favorite stuff to do and eat.
