Parents of teenagers
Where are my fellow parents of teens on here? What would you like to see talked about?

Mine are not teenagers yet, but as a former teacher of teenagers, there are some many resources for academic and emotional education. I would love to see a space dedicated to sharing those resources.
- jujubee—I would love these resources too. I’ve got an 19yr, 16yr, 14yr. I feel like I’m never prepared enough for the challenges they throw at me. 😅

I’ve got a 19 year old and 13 year old!
- jujubee—I have an 19yr old, 16yr old, and a 14yr old.
- rachel—@christyb and @jujubee we need to recruit more moms of teens onto btfl! @christyb, maybe Natalie, or Sharee, or Ashley?? Those ladies would have some good comments.
- christyb—I could post on the ward Facebook page
- rachel—Totally up to you. I’ll text those ladies directly though and ask as well.
I have a tween boy and i feel the teen attitude starting! haha

Just throwing this out there. One of my favorite books about the teenage brain is Brainstorm by Daniel J. Siegel M.D. When I was teaching middle school, I had so many conversations with mothers who tearfully would express that it was like their son or daughter had hit puberty and their behaviors were totally unrecognizable and unpredictable. It’s honestly amazing what the human body goes through at that age physically, but most notably mentally. The brain goes under a type of construction. In a lot of ways, the best way I found to explain it to parents is that this new phase of their life is perhaps very akin to a second toddlerhood. They are exploring new boundaries and discovering and building a whole new world everyday. ❤️
