Thoughts or experiences using children’s melatonin for toddler on long flights?

I haven’t had to give melatonin on a flight, but we do at home occasionally (and did during the toddler phase as well) But we did need to give Dramamine on a flight because of airsickness (I want to say my girls were 8, 6, & 6 though) and that works wonders on a flight for sleep and nausea! 😆

I would just say if you are considering this just try it at home on a weekend and see how it sits with them, I got that advice from my pediatrician.
Also for getting them to sleep on the flight try to get them as close to their night time routine as possible, put on their PJs, get their teeth brushed, lovey… finally the flyaway bed has been amazing for us, worth it if you will do long flights often (we have grandparents far away so we fly at least once a year). https://www.flyawaydesigns.com/products/flyaway-kids-bed\ There are also cheaper options nowadays on Amazon. Just make sure the airline allows it before buying (you can look it up on fly away’s site). - rachel9602
I found high doses of melatonin causes my kiddos to have really vivid dreams, and if it’s a nightmare that can get rough. We settled on the Olly Kids Sleep Gummy. I like that it’s just a tiny nudge of melatonin, and didn’t cause a bunch of nightmares for my kids. We also liked that it uses camomile and lemon balm to help with calming. We use it at bedtime occasionally when we need an early reset night. I haven’t used it for a flight, but i have used it to help them get to sleep on a super long drive.
