I’m looking into Mathnasium vs Kumon for improving math skills for my elementary age kiddos. Anyone have insight into the difference between the two?

I don’t know anything about Kumon, but I can tell you I have nothing but positive things to say about Mathnasium. I love their individual learning plan. I love that students can work at their own pace. I love that students can bring in their homework for help. I love that it’s high school sypher who help the elementary students. In 18 months, my daughter went from struggling in math to bring invited to join the accelerated math class.
Yes, a lot of that was due to her hard work, but she learned to have confidence in her work and skills at Mathnasium.
I highly recommend them to anyone I know.- rachel—@mhcorons This is such great feedback! Thank you! We have a mathnasium walking distance from our house. My kiddos are just entering the fractions/decimals life, which I think so many kids don’t totally lock down so I’ve been wondering if it’s a good option. I’m going do an evaluation since it sounds great!

I just heard about this company: https://www.synthesis.com/tutor
It seems like it might have a lot of the same benefits, at a lower cost, when/where you can do it, rather than having to adjust around a schedule at a location. Downsides to me seem like losing the chance to have another cheerleader/invested grownup in your kid’s life and more screen time. Just depends on what you’ve got going on whether it’s worth exploring.
